TORONTO, Oct. 07, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Discovery Mining Ltd. (TSX: DSV, OTCQX: DSVSF) (“Discovery” or the “Company”) today reported results from ongoing exploration at the Pamour Mine, as part of the Company’s 255,000 – 285,000 m 2026 exploration program. The results, which include 52 holes (16,827.4 m), continued to confirm and expand mineral resources in all three phases of the current open-pit mine plan, and continued to return high-grade intersections at multiple targets located close to the existing resource.

Tony Makuch, Discovery’s CEO, commented: “We continue to receive excellent drilling results at Pamour that have successfully extended mineralization beyond the current resource, identified new zones of higher-grade mineralization, and demonstrated strong continuity of gold-bearing structures across multiple target areas. With a strike length of over 4 kilometres and drilling success along the North Contact Zone, Pamour is increasingly well positioned to become a substantially larger and more valuable mining operation. Today’s results continue to confirm and extend the mineralization within, along strike and to depth of the current resource pit design. They also include encouraging results between Pamour West and the historic Pamour Pit, a key area in terms of establishing continuity of the mineralization across the large Pamour property. In addition, the drill results from along the North Contact Zone highlight the opportunity we have to extend the operation to the north. Considering the drilling results to date, we believe the potential for significant expansion at Pamour continues to look excellent.”

The 52 holes reported today targeted test areas within and surrounding the large open-pit resource at Pamour, which includes 64.8 million tonnes grading 1.30 gpt (2.70 million ounces) in the Indicated Resource category and 23.3 million tonnes grading 1.34 gpt (1.00 million ounces) in the Inferred Resource category (Figure 1).

The Pamour Mine is located approximately 20 km east of Timmins on the north side of the Destor Porcupine Fault Zone and straddles the unconformity between Tisdale Group volcanics and Timiskaming sediments. Mineralization at the mine is closely associated with quartz veining, which can occur in single veins, vein arrays, stockworks as well as pyrite both along the unconformity and in volcanics to the north.

Drilling was focused on four main areas including the Pamour Pit (East and West), Pamour West (Broulan #5 Pit), and the North Contact Zone. The drilling represents a continuation of a program which commenced in the second quarter of 2025 to convert and extend resources in preparation for an updated mineral resource estimate early in 2027.

Drilling at the Pamour pit included 24 holes (9,071.7 m) targeting near the east and west limits of the current resource.

Significant results from the east portion of the Pamour pit include: 1.80 gpt over 29.0m, 4.58 gpt over 20.7m, and 7.39 gpt over 18.0m in hole PAM26-0297; 2.01 gpt over 20.7m and 0.91 gpt over 11.7m in hole PAM26-0288; 1.06 gpt over 13.2m and 1.76 gpt over 14.6m in hole PAM26-0248; 1.25 gpt over 6.0m, 2.86 gpt over 12.5m, and 1.09 gpt over 22.3m in hole PAM26-0251; 1.78 gpt over 5.0m and 2.21 gpt over 12.2m in hole PAM26-0259; 42.37 gpt over 5.1m in PAM26-0263; 3.61 gpt over 8.8m and 1.09 gpt over 7.0m in hole PAM26-0267; 1.86 gpt over 20.0m and 1.17 gpt over 10.9m in hole PAM26-0269A; (Table 1). It is important to note is that holes PAM26-0288 and PAM26-0297 intersected mineralization just to the north and below the current resource pit, highlighting the potential for further expansion along strike and to depth.

Significant results from the west portion of the pit include: 1.79 gpt over 14.5m in hole PAM26-270A; 3.64 gpt over 9.8m in hole PAM25-0122; 40.64 gpt over 5.4m and 1.25 gpt over 4.3m in hole PAM25-0138; 11.25 gpt over 10.5m, 1.50 gpt over 12.9m, 1.33 gpt over 4.8m, 0.86 gpt over 12.1m, 2.09 gpt over 7.0m and 2.06 gpt over 13.5m in hole PAM26-0156; 1.01 gpt over 10.0m and 2.70 gpt over 6.0m in hole PAM26-0189; 1.12 gpt over 9.5m, 1.20 gpt over 10.5m, and 1.03 gpt over 17.1m in hole PAM26-0193; and 1.58 gpt over 12.1m, 1.60 gpt over 5.7m, and 3.54 gpt over 6.7m in hole PAM26-0256.

Drilling at Pamour West included 18 holes (4,671.7 m) to test areas surrounding and up to a kilometre east of the historic Broulan open pit. Significant results from the area surrounding the historic open pit include: 4.08 gpt over 11.3m in hole PAM26-0286LR; 3.64 got over 10.2m, 2.41 gpt over 8.7m, 2.75 gpt over 5.0m, 1.06 gpt over 4.6m, and 2.53 gpt over 6.5m in hole PAM26-0221; 6.05 gpt over 5.0m, 2.67 gpt over 3.1m and 1.51 gpt over 15.0m in hole PAM26-0282LR; 2.54 gpt over 8.0m and 1.91 gpt over 7.0m in hole PAM26-0268A; 2.24 gpt over 12.6m and 1.83 gpt over 7.0m in hole PAM26-0229 and significant results from the area to the east include 5.04 gpt over 10.0m and 2.37 gpt over 3.7m, in hole PAM26-0299; 4.85gpt over 5.0m in hole PAM26-0247; 1.52 gpt over 11.0m, 1.08 gpt over 9.8m, 2.08 gpt over 5.9m and 1.45 gpt over 7.5m in hole PAM26-0196 and; 2.01 gpt over 12.0m and 3.82 gpt over 5.0m in hole PAM26-0311. Results from the new holes indicate that the mineralization coincides with zones of increased quartz veining and pyrite along the same volcanic-sedimentary contact hosting the historic Pamour Pit, located approximately 1.5 km to the northeast of the historic Broulan pit, with the most easterly hole drilled being 900 m east of the Broulan pit and 600 m from the historic Pamour Pit. The potential to add additional mineralization along the same contact with further drilling in the area between the two pits is considered excellent.

Drilling at the North Contact Zone includes 10 holes (3,084 m) which targeted a major east – west trending volcanic sedimentary contact located directly north of the phase 2 pit and into an untested gap in drilling between historic holes located 600 m to the east and 900 m to the west. Significant results from the new drilling include: 1.43 gpt over 23.7m in hole PAM26-0265; 4.36 gpt over 6.0m in hole PAM26-0271; 2.50 gpt over 8.4m, 3.83 gpt over 5.0m and 1.01 gpt over 11.0m in hole PAM26-0283; 1.83 gpt over 10.5m in hole PAM26-0227; 3.15 gpt over 4.5m, 0.92 gpt over 14.4m, and 1.02 gpt over 7.4m in hole PAM26-0232. Based on a review of the results, the new holes continue to expand mineralization to the north of the current Pamour resource pit.

Considering drilling results to date, Discovery believes the potential for significant expansion continues to look excellent. Recent drilling has successfully extended mineralization beyond the current resource envelope, identified new zones of higher-grade mineralization, and demonstrated strong continuity of gold-bearing structures across multiple target areas.

The drill program remains ongoing, with one drill focused on the Pamour open pit area, two drills testing the Pamour West target, and a drill operating at the North Contact Zone.

QUALIFIED PERSONS

Discovery’s exploration programs at the Porcupine Operations are conducted under the supervision of Eric Kallio, P.Geo., Executive Vice President, Exploration and Growth, Kara Byrnes, P.Geo, Vice President, Exploration and Geology – Porcupine and Kristie Rioux, P.Geo., Senior Geologist. Mr. Kallio, Ms. Byrnes and Ms. Rioux are “qualified persons” for the purpose of National Instrument 43-101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, of the Canadian Securities Administrators, and have reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information in this news release.

Readers are referred to the mineral resource estimate as set out in the Company’s current technical report entitled “Porcupine Complex, Ontario, Canada NI 43-101 Report on Preliminary Assessment” with an effective date of January 13, 2025 (the “Technical Report”), which is available under the Company’s issuer profile on SEDAR+ at www.sedarplus.ca. Statements concerning mineral resource estimates may also be deemed to constitute forward looking information to the extent that they involve estimates of the mineralization that will be encountered if the property is developed. The Technical Report includes the results of a preliminary economic assessment which is preliminary in nature. It includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have the economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves and there is no certainty that the preliminary economic assessment will be realized.

QA/QC CONTROLS

The Company follows a quality assurance and control (“QA/QC”) program to ensure that sampling and analysis of all exploration work is conducted in accordance with best practices.

At Pamour, core is logged and sampled in a secure facility at the Dome mine site and under supervision of Qualified Geologists. The NQ sized core is predominantly whole core sampled with select holes being sawn in half for future verification. CRM standards, coarse blank material and duplicates are inserted every 20 samples. Samples are picked up by Activation Laboratories and tracked via a chain of custody from site to the lab for preparation and assaying.

Discovery utilizes the accredited external lab Activation Laboratories to manage its core analysis. ActLabs is certified by the Standards Council of Canada which conforms with ASB-RG Mineral Analysis Laboratory for the Accreditation of Mineral Analysis Testing Laboratories and CAN-P-4E ISO/IEC 17025: General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.

Sample preparation includes crushing drill core up to 80% passing 2 mm, riffle splitting 500 grams and pulverizing to 95% passing 105 µm followed by both scheduled and specifically requested silica sand cleaning. Gold Analysis involves Fire Assay – Atomic Absorption technique from a 50-gram pulp sample with grade ranges between 5 to 10,000 ppb. Samples greater than 10,000 ppb are analyzed with a gravimetric finish. Selected high grade samples are also analyzed using the screen metallics procedure.

ABOUT DISCOVERY

Discovery Mining Ltd. is a growing precious metals company that is creating value for stakeholders through exposure to gold, silver and other critical minerals.
